LLBO WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER

If you thought Andromache Karakatsanis was a tough name to learn, brace yourself for our newest Board Member: Munyonzwe Hamalengwa.

      Munyonzwe, who starts his tenure with the Board this month, comes to us from a law practice in Toronto and has been specializing in criminal. immigration and human rights law. His very impressive Curriculum Vitae includes teaching at two Ontario universities, directing the African Studies Program at York University, and founding the Nelson Mandela Law Society at Osgoode Hall Law School. A graduate from the Osgoode Hall Law School, Munyonzwe has also studied at York and Carlton Universities a swell as at institutes in the Hague, Strasbourg, Geneva, and Washington, D.C. Munyonzwe is a prolific author and has written numerous legal and political papers, focusing, primarily on African social and political rights issues. As if that hasn't been enough to keep him busy, Munyonzwe has also traveled extensively. In the last 15 years he has traveled to and/or lived in Zambia, Tanzania, the States, France, Switzerland, Britain, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Japan, and Australia.

     LLBO Chair and CEO Andromache Karakatsanis says she is looking forward to working with the new board member. "Munyonzwe has an outstanding record. I'm confident he will make a welcome and valuable addition to our Board".
